From simple helper to innovative band by FAHRER-Berlin

Today we are taking you on an exciting journey through the history of a small but extremely important everyday hero: the trouser clip, an inconspicuous utensil, but for us a symbol of innovation and progress.
Imagine it's the 19th century. The first chain-driven bicycle is invented. A groundbreaking revolution. But people wear elegant trousers and the problem quickly becomes apparent: how do you secure your trouser legs without them slipping, creasing or getting caught in the chain? At this time, attempts are already being made to tame trousers, but they are far from perfect. Rivets, buckles or simple clothes pegs – all only half effective and, above all, very cumbersome.
This is where the trouser clip comes into play for the first time. Originally not invented for cycling, it quickly offers a remedy with ingenious simplicity and now becomes an indispensable companion for workers, business people, fashion-conscious individuals and cyclists alike.
But the story doesn't end there! Over the years, there have been many developments to the original clip. This is because it slipped, damaged the fabric and went out of fashion.
In the early 2000s, however, Joachim Leffler took on the task of rethinking it. He saw the potential for a truly innovative development that would take the classic approach to trouser clips to a new level.
The fashion of the 2000s is currently enjoying a revival, but the „BAND“ never went away.
This is how the BAND was created in 2005, on Joachims kitchen table. It was designed to offer more support AND flexibility, be suitable for cycling, make the rider visible and provide safety. He skilfully combined functionality with design and sustainability to create a timeless fashion accessory that ist still one of the most popular products from the meanwhile huge and diverse FAHRER-Berlin product-cosmos in 2025.
